What is Poder Digital?
It is the app that brings power closer to citizens. It ranks, compares and shares —through transparent, objective rankings based on public information— how political profiles, economic players and associations communicate digitally with citizens. It was created to make sense of the noise of the digital environment and help rebuild trust and transparency.
What is “digital power”?
It is the app’s core indicator. It measures a political actor’s real ability to connect with voters and lead public conversation on X, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok, expressed on a 0–100 scale.
What is the digital power ranking?
The classification that lets you compare, on a single scale, the digital power of different actors. It shows who connects best with their community and who leads the conversation on the platforms we analyse.
How is it calculated?
We analyse recent activity on X, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok —up to 30 posts from the last 60 days— applying the RIO formula (Regularity, Interactions and Originality). It draws on established methodologies such as LinkedIn’s Social Selling Index, HypeAuditor and Ninjalitics metrics, and academic literature on influencer scoring, including the CRI model.
What does the RIO formula measure?
Regularity: consistency in posting. Interactions: engagement and response generated. Originality: original content, added value and the ability to open dialogue.
Why do you only analyse the last 60 days?
Because we aim to measure digital power in real time: if someone disconnects, they drop; if they become active, they rise. The ranking updates weekly, in a stable but responsive way to real changes.
How is the final score obtained?
By applying the RIO formula to recent activity, with adjustments that avoid distortions from viral spikes. In addition, if someone stands out on one network, that platform weighs more in their score; and if they keep active communities on several, that momentum is reflected too.
What does this number represent?
A political actor’s ability to activate their community, contribute relevant content and generate conversation on the platforms where much of the public debate now takes place. Overall, a clear and accessible way to compare public profiles.
What is the “affinity network”?
A map of discourse on social media: each node is a stakeholder (its size, its digital power) and each connection links those who share a similar discourse (the thicker, the more similar). It lets you see which decision-makers talk about the same things and how they cluster by affinity.
Which platforms does it analyse?
X, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok, the networks where much of today’s political and institutional conversation is concentrated.
Does it include associations?
Yes. In addition to more than 5,000 entities in the political and institutional sphere, Poder Digital includes the associative fabric, starting with national associations present in State advisory bodies (Consejo Económico y Social, Consejo Escolar del Estado, Consejo de Consumidores y Usuarios, Consejo Asesor de Medio Ambiente, among others).
For associations, which account is measured?
The organisation’s institutional account, not the personal account of its leader: it is the entity’s main public voice, the one that gathers a wider community and best reflects its activity, positioning and digital influence.
How often is it updated?
The ranking updates weekly; it is stable but responsive to the real activity changes of each actor.
Who owns Poder Digital?
The code, the databases and the content are property of VINCES. Within a strategic alliance, DEMÓCRATA publishes the data generated by Poder Digital in a section of its platform and is responsible for processing the information displayed there.
Where does the data come from?
From each profile’s public social media: Instagram, X, TikTok and LinkedIn. We only use public information that the actors themselves publish; we do not use private sources.
Is there any cost?
No. Poder Digital is a public service, accessible to all citizens through Demócrata.
